Conselhos ao Sr. Primeiro Ministro
Se, por qualquer razão, o Sr Primeiro Ministro soubesse destas palavras dir-lhe-ia.

Sr. Primeiro Ministro, aceite o conselho de um velho socialista que não tem ambições políticas mas muita experiência de vida. Mais reflexão, mais eficiência, menos demagogia.
Anunciou V. Exª que iria ser dada formação matemática aos professores do 1º ciclo.
Sr. Primeiro ministro, os professores do 1º ciclo, à excepção de menos de 1% que ainda tiraram os cursos antes de 1975, tiveram matemática nos cursos das Escolas do Magistério e Superiores durante 2 ou 3 anos o que é mais que suficiente para ensinar a matemática e aritmética no referido ciclo.
Não é por falta de formação dos professores que os alunos não sabem matemática. Nos 2º e 3º ciclos também não sabem e, aí, os professores são licenciados.
As razões do insucesso escolar são outras. Não atire fora mais dinheiro dos contribuintes que tanto está a sacrificar

Não será fácil levar os miúdos a enfrentarem o papão da matemática.
Novos métodos, novos programas, com maior incidência numa acção prática, para levar os alunos a entenderem a parte teórica.
Discordo da tua opinião qt ao ensino da matemática e "suficiente" q os professores sabem. Infelizmente fui uma péssima aluna a matemática e neste momento sinto que a forma cm a disciplina é dada continua a ser de forma errada, não estando em questão o q cada professor sabe mas sim a forma cm o transmite, e é aí que a formação deverá incidir (pq essa é tb uma forma de não saber matemática). Este assunto dá, de facto, pano para mangas e é também um facto que os alunos saem da escola( todas 1º, 2º e 3º ciclos) a não dominarem a matemática. Mas eu continuo a defender que não é por falta de formação dos professores, é falta de exigência e avaliação do sistema. Os professores sabem o suficiente para ensinarem, talvez não estejam bem direccionados. Falo por experiência, fui professor do ensino básico, professor nas escolas do magistério, tenho 3 filhos (uma com 7 anos) e, neste momento acompanho uma tese de mestrado. É preciso que a matemática seja compreendida, se relacione com a vida da criança, e que se leve o aluno a gostar da metemática
